We have an open position available for a purchasing officer to expand our purchasing team. This position is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week) at our base maintenance facility, located at Maastricht Airport, The Netherlands.

SAMCO Aircraft Maintenance is an independent maintenance facility for a large range of regional jet and turboprop aircraft. The company has about 300 employees, of which about 200 works at the home base facility, located at Maastricht Airport, and just under 100 at various airports across the world.

We have a great team of experienced technicians, supported by a strong support group consisting of various departments like warehouse, shipping, tool store, purchasing, planning, engineering, ICT and finance.

Application description

As a purchasing officer you will be part of the purchasing department and work in a team which consists of both men and women from young to middle age. You source and buy aircraft parts, tools, materials, goods, and services on behalf of the company to be resold or used in daily operations and aircraft maintenance projects. You may also maintain stock levels, and may negotiate with vendors and customers.

The purchasing officer works together with planning and other support- and executive departments, as well as with customer representatives.

Task description / Responsibilities include

•Sourcing and purchasing of parts, tools and services needed for aircraft repair- and maintenance projects.
•Creation of orders in an advanced computerised / ERP system.

•Arranging and follow-up of transport and drop shipments.

•Providing up to date information to the maintenance team leaders, planners and customer representatives.

•Report and support the purchasing manager / head of department where required.
•Assist the sales manager with the preparation of quotes.

Requirements

•MBO degree or equivalent.

•Average level of computer skills and applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook (SharePoint is a plus).

•Communication skills in the English language in word and writing.

•Strong skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers.

•Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company.

•Flexible attitude and willing to cover standby duties in weekend and evenings in a regular schedule.

•You will be trained on the job. Experience in a similar position is no must but surely a plus.
