We have an open position available for a sheet metal worker to expand our base maintenance team. This position is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week) at our base maintenance facility, located at Maastricht Airport, The Netherlands.

SAMCO Aircraft Maintenance is an independent maintenance facility for a large range of regional jet and turboprop aircraft. The company has about 300 employees, of which about 200 works at the home base facility, located at Maastricht Airport, and just under 100 at various airports across the world.

We have a great team of experienced technicians, supported by a strong support group consisting of various departments like warehouse, shipping, tool store, purchasing, planning, engineering, ICT and finance.

Application description

During the maintenance of an aircraft, the sheet metal worker takes care of all mechanical sheet metal processes and repairs large on wing sheet metal and pax doors, airstair doors and nacelles, etc. Upcoming (junior) sheet metal employees work under close supervision of an experienced sheet metal worker.

Task description / Responsibilities include

•Within the company’s scope of work, carry out independently all types of aircraft mechanic and/or avionic repairs and modifications on the aircraft.
•Evaluate and estimate modifications, defect rectifications and other specialized sheet metal repairs.
•Basic repairs, blend outs and reinforcing repairs.
•Floor beam and frame installations / repairs.
•Structural repairs on floor beams, fuselage skin repairs, to include stringers, doublers, and triplers.
•Corrosion removal, damage evaluation and finish restoration.
•Familiar with working from SRM’s, RD, Blueprints, Service Bulletins, AD, EA, and EO etc.

Requirements

• All Part-66 category B1/B2 basic knowledge modules should have been passed successfully (75% per module).
• Experience working in an Aviation MRO environment is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
• Good English communication skills in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with deadlines.
• The applicant must be pro-active and customer focused.
• The applicant must be a team-player and have an accurate and conscientious work attitude.
• The applicant must have a flexible attitude, be willing to travel abroad occasionally and cover weekend and evening duties in a regular pattern.
