We have an open position available for a finance manager to lead our finance team. This position is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week) at our base maintenance facility, located at Maastricht Airport, The Netherlands.

SAMCO Aircraft Maintenance is an independent maintenance facility for a large range of regional jet and turboprop aircraft. The company has about 300 employees, of which about 200 works at the home base facility, located at Maastricht Airport, and just under 100 at various airports across the world.

We have a great team of experienced technicians, supported by a strong support group consisting of various departments like warehouse, shipping, tool store, purchasing, planning, engineering, ICT and finance.

As head of the finance department, you work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategies and plans to achieve the company’s long-term objectives.

You know how to use the increasing sophistication of technology and data analysis techniques to advise management on profit maximization strategies.

As head of department, you manage several administrative employees.

Task description / Responsibilities include

•Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
•Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance department including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
•Project invoicing.
•Payroll admin.
•Pension.
•Tax.
•Supervise the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash.
•Flow forecasting.
•Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company’s finances.
•Supervise the documentation of the company’s financial status and forecasts.
•Evaluating customer creditworthiness.
•Preparing financing and legal documents.
•Coaching and training of financial staff. You motivate your team and keep the department running at the highest possible level.

Requirements

•A successfully completed, relevant HBO/WO education.
•At least 6 years of relevant all-round work experience in a medium-sized company.
•Proven knowledge of financial analysis and strategy.
•Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
•Excellent social and communication skills.
•Analytical, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
•Attention to detail and being hands-on.
•Accurate, stress-resistant and committed.
•Knowledge of customs regulations is a plus.
•In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations.
•A good understanding of accounting concepts, financial reporting standards and best practices.
•Experience with accounting software, statistical analysis tools and other industry-specific applications.
•Experience with Account view and/or Exact is a plus.
•Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must; knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
